Hunters for the Hungry to Launch Historic One-Day Digital Newspaper on America’s 250th Birthday

On July 4, 2026, as America marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Indiana-based nonprofit Hunters for the Hungry of America, Inc. will release The American Declaration—a one-day digital newspaper designed to spotlight the nationwide “Hunters for the Hungry” movement.

Founded in 2011 and chartered in The State of Indiana, this small nonprofit’s  mission is to raise awareness of local programs in dozens of states where hunters donate hundreds of thousands of pounds of venison and wild game each year. This lean, healthy protein is processed and delivered through food banks, shelters, and soup kitchens to millions of food-insecure families.

Though many Americans have never heard of this movement it’s one of the most efficient charity systems in the country. The  goal in launching this one day, digital newspaper and media campaign is simple: let the nation discover it on its 250th birthday.”

Important note: Hunters for the Hungry of America, Inc. is a national 501(c)(3) that does not process or distribute meat. Independent state and local programs throughout the county—many with similar names—handle all on-the-ground work. The national nonprofit exists only to celebrate, educate, and advocate for them.
